Lo Maalue Lynghøj is an established, professional Danish artist and the creator of the art brand Art by Lo. As well as working as an artist, Lo runs her own art gallery in Copenhagen as well as participating in various art projects, events and arranging workshops and presentations on life as an artist.
Lo’s work is inspired by her travels to Berlin, Sweden, New York, Los Angeles and India, among others. Her paintings playfully combine painterly, organic imagery with references to the New York skyline, kitsch figurative motifs and graphic, geometric elements. Her paintings juxtapose delicate, muted earthy shades of brown, blue and green from Scandinavia with bright fluorescent colours of the metropolis creating alluring, extraordinary contrasts. These contrasts of imagery, colours and surfaces make for intriguing viewing; each painting acts as a surreal landscape with apocalyptic undertones contrasted with iconic, symbolic objects.
Art by Lo has featured in the prestigious Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition 2007 in Denmark, Cow Parade, Copenhagen 2007 and at Miami’s famous Art Fusion Galleries, 2009. Art by Lo has been exhibited at several European and International galleries as well as various exhibitions, at corporate companies and art societies – and at gallery exhibitions in Cannes & Paris since 2005.
