CREATIVE DRAWING WORKSHOPS & SUMMER WORKSHOPS at Red Gate Gallery, CAMBERWELL/BRIXTON

Red Gate Gallery would like to inform our public about our life drawing classes re-commencing from 2008.

The 4 hour long workshops will stretch over a 4 week period and are aimed at beginners as well as participants who would like to re-kindle their passion for life drawing and drawing. The workshops are lead by artist and printmaker Jonathan Comerford. His approach is contemporary and innovative yet based on traditional techniques and skill.The objective of the workshop is to give participants a solid foundation of knowledge and skill as well as guidance to develop their own style or ‘handwriting’. Participant numbers not greater than 10 per workshop will ensure good tutor/student rapport.

Be inspired by other artist’s work
Develop your work through experimentation
Learn how to draw form and volume as well as a variety of poses
Create a portfolio of work
Enjoy a relaxing atmosphere

Life drawing classes: Saturday mornings 10am – 2pm

Materials provided by the workshop:
Easels, Paper, Compressed charcoal/Chalk

Materials to be brought:
HB Pencils, Conte Crayon and any other pencils you like to use

Fees, Time Tables and Dates: Fee for 4 workshops £85 (£5 reduction if you pay for all 4 workshops in advance.) It is wise to book early as places are limited. Jonathan Comerford is the recipient of the Volkskas Atelier Award, and spent 6 months at the Cite des Artes, Paris, France. He has taken part in numerous Print Bienniales and exchange programmes and has been a resident artist at the Grafische Werkstatt im Traklhaus, Salzburg, Austria. His work is represented in collections such as the National Gallery, the Sanlam Collection and the Sasol Museum. (A full cv of Jonathan Comerford is available on request)
